More About Me!

The advertising agency was a very valuable experience. I learned a tremendous amount about everything there! I was able to do packaging, newsletters, brochures, and web design. During this time I also went back to school at night and got my Webmaster Certification from Penn State University. I worked there until I fell in love with a commercial pilot, got married, and had to move to the cold state of Wisconsin. And that is when World Wide Weber Design was created.

I decided to take my knowledge of that I had gained from the advertising agency and freelance on the side. Since my new last name was Weber, and I was really getting a lot of work in web design, I decided to name it World Wide Weber Design in honor of the world wide web. And the duck? He just happens to be a pilot. His webbed feet (Weber...webbed, get it?) make up the w's in the logo. That's the great thing about having your own business. You can design it however you want!

While in Wisconsin I also started working for an IT outsourcing firm. I created around thirty websites there in the two and a half years that I lived Wisconsin. It became an ideal job when in August of 2002 my daughter was born. I was able to work from home and just get a babysitter when I needed to go see a client.

Then in 2003, John's job took us to Cincinnati. I was thrilled because it was a much larger city and the weather here is much warmer! By then my daughter was a year old and I was ready to think about working outside of the home, at least part time. So very quickly I found myself teaching at a Graphic Design college. It has definitely been fun, and the contacts I have made their have introduced me to clients. I work from 8-1:30 five days a week and freelance in after work. In some ways I think it is the best of both worlds. Teaching demands that you know your stuff. Students can get themselves into interesting problems on the computer. Plus being able to explain to a student why something isn't working in their design and helping them fix it has helped me become a better designer. I am art director to 30-45 students every day!

Well that takes me up to where I am today. Teaching and freelancing. If you have read this far, I can only hope that you might be interested in hiring me... So please look at my work, and then contact me!
